honey - beekeeping
It is the production activity with which the company was born more than 30 years ago.

Even today, the management of almost a thousand hives allows us to produce around 30 tons of honey per year.

The hives are located and moved on almost all the Sicilian territory to give the tireless bees the possibility to collect the nectar from the best blooms and thus allow us to produce about 9 types of honey :

Orange, Lemon, Sulla, Millefiori, Achillea, Melata, Eucaliptus, Thyme, Chestnut, as well as Honey, honey and chopped fruit creams.

The olive grove
For a decade now, the company has also been taking care of the family olive grove, located on the southern slope of Etna, planted with the native Nocellara varieties of Etna and Brandofino.

An excellent extra virgin olive oil is born from manual harvesting and cold extraction within a few hours.

A subsequent careful and wise infusion of local aromatic herbs allows the creation of intriguing and versatile condiments;

A small food laboratory and collaboration with other local companies allows the production of vacuum-packed preserves, traditional pesto and paté or revisited

The vineyard
The Costa family owns a wonderful 5-hectare vineyard, located in Zafferana, east side of Etna, at 550 m asl.

Native vines in three different plants:
- About 1 hectare , just over 10 years old, planted in Nerello Mascalese and bred with spurred cordon.

- Little more than 3 hectares , with an age of about 40 years, bred with a sapling resting on a row and planted with red grapes of Nerello Mascalese and Cappuccio and of white Cataratto, Carricante and Minnella grapes, mixed as per tradition.

- Just under 1 hectare , positioned on small terraces made with dry stone walls, the oldest part of the vineyard, with a plant of more than 80 years old, bred with traditional sapling method.

From this vineyard, care of the vines, low yields per plant, careful selection of the grapes, but above all a lot of work and passion, excellent WINES are produced which I can boast the prestigious initials Etna DOC.

Cultural tourism services
In addition, the offer offers company visits and tastings, and welcomes around 150,000 guests per year.

Two locations with different active services:

- At APICOLTURA it is possible to make a visit with the live API, attend the extraction of honey and taste the products of the hive and continue in the "Cantina Rustica" with the tasting of all the products of the company in a suggestive environment surrounded by a splendid wall in the lava rock of 1792.

- At the new structure, IL PARCO , located on the lava front 1992, it is possible to taste all the products.
Here is the aging cellar and the winemaking cellar is also under construction.

Dapoco the new TASTING service is active, which includes a walk in the vineyards, a visit to the barrel cellar and the tasting of 5 wines by the glass also with a gastronomic combination (light lunch), followed by by specialized personnel, also in language.
