GRAPPA FROM MARCS OF NERELLO MASCALESE GRAPE
Grape marc: Nerello Mascalese.
Cultivation system: sapling on the row and sapling classic on lava stone terraces.
Age of the vineyards: 40 and 80 years.
Production Area: East side of Mount Etna, in Zafferana Etnea.
Altitude: 500 m asl.
Climate: of high hills with wide fluctuations in temperature between day and night.
Type of soil: volcanic sandy, mixed with stones, rich in mineral salts.
Vine density: 6.000 plants per hectare.
Yield per hectare: 50 Ql.
Distillation method: slow in discontinuous alembic at low pressure steam .
Ageing: 6 months in stainless steel.
Colour: transparent and crystalline.
Scent: elegant, typical of the grape. Delicate hints of grape, apple, plum and reminiscences of rose petals.
Taste: soft, dry, with sapidity and minerality. Harmonious and quite persistent
Alcohol content: 42 % vol.
Serving temperature: 16 °C.
Calyx: Small tulip glass.
Master distiller: Giovanni La Fauci.
Quantity: 800 numbered bottles.
Bottle: bordeaux bottle, of type “primavera” (6,1 x 33 cm) in white glass. Bottles 50 cl.
Stopper: technical cork, stopper “T”.
